SuperTrapp Industries - Performance Exhaust Pioneers
The history of the SuperTrapp muffler begins in the Davis, Calif. garage of inventor Paul Moller. In the late sixties he was immersed in experimental trials of the XM-3, his early attempt at a flying automobile. In desperate needs of funds, Moller began looking for an intermediate, far easier target for his newly developed tunable disc technology. Eventually Moller turned to a passion of his motorcycles and the SuperTrapp muffler was born, soon becoming one of the most popular aftermarket accessories ever made for motorcycles.
From those humble beginnings, SuperTrapp Industries, Inc. has grown to be a leading manufacturer of aftermarket performance exhaust systems for a variety of motor vehicle applications, including motorcycle, ATV and automotive. The SuperTrapp brand has long been recognized as the performance standard, combining added power with innovative styling, quality, and versatile sound.
Based in Cleveland, Ohio, SuperTrapp employs more than 200 full-time personnel. In addition to a full line of branded aftermarket exhaust systems, the company also owns and manufactures Kerker brand exhausts, Mean Mothers drag pipes, and the Road Legends series of drag pipes. SuperTrapp is also the OEM supplier on major domestic and international bike brands. SuperTrapp also manufactures private label brands for the aftermarket parts and accessory programs of many major motorcycle manufacturers and for the larger distributors in the U.S., Europe and Japan. Out of the more than 200 motorcycle exhaust manufacturers worldwide, SuperTrapp ranks among the top five in performance exhaust market sales.

SuperTrapps Patented Tuneable Disc Technology
A signature feature of SuperTrapp exhaust systems is the diffuser disc technology, created and patented for the XDUSOR, the first motorcycle exhaust product sold by Moller in 1971.This technology allows the rider to adapt their bike, or ATV, to a specific riding environment. This is accomplished through a series of discs with a precisely aligned diameter that form the exhaust outlet. By adding or subtracting discs, the rider can tune the powerband and sound of their machine in just a few minutes with basic hand tools.
Removing discs decreases the exhaust opening and increases backpressure. This effectively decreases the powerband to create more low-end torque. It also decreases exhaust tone and enriches carburetion.
Adding discs increases the exhaust outlet and decreases back pressure. This widens the powerband at the top end. It also increases exhaust tone and leans out carburetion.
Most SuperTrapp systems come with installation instructions that indicate the recommended number of discs for each application.

Kerker
Once fierce competitors, SuperTrapp purchased Kerker in 1991 and has worked to reinvigorate the brand, introducing dozens of new products since the purchase. Kerker exhausts have a long-standing reputation for quality and satisfaction and have long been popular with both the racing circuit and the street rider. They deliver superior top end power in one of the most lightweight designs available. The systems feature Dyno-developed cores for optimum performance, billet CNC aluminum flange adaptors and packing specially engineered utilizing sound absorption technology. Kerker is also fast becoming known for styling innovation with round and elliptical canisters and sleek rainbow titanium finishes.

Racing
SuperTrapps proven performance on the track has made it a standard in the racing world for decades.
Most of the riders (70 percent) competing in the AMA Progressive Flat Track Series, including Mike Hacker, 2001 National Champion Joe Kopp, 2003 FUSA Champion Bryan Smith, Bryan Bigelow and Willie McCoy use the stock SuperTrapp 750 Megaphone Series. Retired flat trackers Steve Morehead, Jay Springsteen and Scott Parker also used SuperTrapp products during their legendary racing careers.
SuperTrapp is the official exhaust of the AMA-sanctioned Xtreme International Ice Racing (XiiR) Pro Tour, with every racer using the 4-in. Megaphone External Disc Series to provide the extra burst of low-end horsepower and torque needed for short-track ice racing. Anthony British Bulldog Barlow has used SuperTrapp systems to power him toward three World Indoor Ice Speedway Racing Championships.
SuperTrapp is the main sponsor of Ton Pels, one of the most experienced European Drag Racers, and his Zodiac Drag Race team. Tons Top Fuel Harley Davidson is, and has been for many years, the fastest and quickest normally aspirated motorcycle outside the United States.
Kerker power has delivered such champions like Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey, Pro-Star 600 SuperSport Keith Dennis and has powered such riders like Mike Hale and Tom Kipp. Kerker is also the official slip-on exhaust of the Starboyz sport bike stunt team, which inspired the new Kerker Starboyz series slip-ons for late model sport bikes.
