we're excited to have retired Harley-Davidson racing mechanic Bill Werner and his 38
years of experience as the most successful tuner in AMA Grand National History, as a
regular columnist. We know you'll enjoy reading Bill's "behind-the-scenes" takes on racing
as much as we have.
Bottom line? We want you to feel like Pipeline is time well spent. We appreciate the

The
Race Track
XIIR Racing Recap
It has turned out to be another thrilling season this year for the SuperTrapp-sponsored
Xtreme International Ice Racing (XIIR) as the motorcycle point race went neck and
neck between last year's champ Kenny "Starfighter" Olsson and series co-founder
Anthony "British Bulldog" Barlow. Olsson ended the season in first place with Barlow
in second and Nick Fafard of Canada in third.
Louis "Taz-Man" Smith, XIIR's other co-founder, had a commanding lead in the ATV
division of the series, but in a sport in which vehicles travel at 60 mph, have
no brakes and all of the action is on an indoor hockey rink, anything can happen.
Rich Shoeberl pulled out some top finishes in the last races to finish first in
the series, followed by Jared Cuevas in second and Smith in third.
In only its second season, the AMA sanctioned series is starting to pick up steam.
The series expanded from eight races in its inaugural season to 14 in 2005.
SuperTrapp is the official exhaust sponsor of the XIIR and its exhaust is used
by every racer in the series. For more information on the series visit www.xiir.com.
Profile:
Anthony Barlow
Not only is Anthony "British Bulldog" Barlow one of the leading racers in Xtreme
International Ice Racing (XIIR), but he is also the co-founder of the series. In
the series' debut season, Barlow not only finished second in the motorcycle division,
but also finished fourth in the ATV division.
This year he is again right in the middle of the title chase. Prior to forming
the XIIR with fellow ice racer Louis Smith, Barlow was a three-time World Ice Racing
Champion. The England native currently resides in St. Peters, Mo. with his wife
and three children.

Werner's Words
Bill Werner is the most successful tuner in AMA Grand National history with
13 championships to his credit. He spent 38 years as a racing mechanic for Harley-Davidson,
always striving to squeeze every last bit of power from the Harley engine. He's
been using SuperTrapp mufflers since the 70s when he discovered the tuneble technology
allowed him to meet sound requirements and still gain power.
After his retirement in 2004, Bill agreed to lend his expertise to SuperTrapp to
help develop race and street systems with ultimate power and performance. He's
also agreed to share some stories and words of wisdom with you, the readers of
Pipeline.
I recently had the opportunity to participate in a SuperTrapp press conference
during the Dealer Expo in Indianapolis. A popular topic of conversation was SuperTrapp's
passion and support for racing. It occurred to me that the word 'passion' came
up often in conversations about racing. If you have that passion, you recognize
it in others. My family recognized my passion and accepted my commitment. My daughters
went as far to schedule their weddings around my races. Seeing this didn't surprise
my racers and team members, but it did, once again, illustrate the level of commitment
that is necessary to be successful in this industry.
All of the racers I've worked with share the passion. But they're not the only
ones. We share it with the fans that loyally support them week after week. It's
not uncommon to see a fan "grow-up"
watching season after season.
And don't think we don't start recognizing some of the faces in the crowd. In fact,
I can remember one fan who spent the bulk of her teenage years watching her favorite
racer - Scott Parker. After about five years of faithful attendance, signs and
cheers, Scott rewarded her passion, Joe Green style; throwing his racing jacket
to her after one of his many wins.
Racing is a sport of passion. Riding is a hobby of passion. I've been privileged
enough to live my passion for almost four decades. I hope though this column, my
work with SuperTrapp and my continued involvement on the track that I can pass
on what I've learned and fuel that passion in you.

At SuperTrapp, we love a good-looking exhaust. And we like it even better on a
good-looking bike like yours. That's what this section is for - to feature our

This month's testimonial
James Thurber, editor of California's motorcycling newspaper CITYBIKE, recently
installed a 2:1 SuperTrapp SuperMeg on the paper's project Sportster. Here's what
he had to say:
Thank you, SuperTrapp, for providing CITYBIKE with one of your 2:1 Supertrapp
systems designed for the 04 / 05 Sportster line. Not only is it absolutely stunning
but it fit perfectly - something that is all too rare in today's aftermarket world.
Photographing it has proven most difficult thanks to the quality of your chrome
- it reflects everything! It has garnished numerous positive comments from both
our staff and folks at the restaurant where we frequently display the bike on weekends.
Check out www.citybike.com or
the March issue of CITYBIKE for the full review.
